Introduction to Drawing

Students will hone their observational skills for better drawing techniques through studies in line, value, perspective, texture, proportion, foreshortening, gestural drawing, and learn how to work with different drawing materials. This class is great for beginners as well as students who wish to brush up their drawing skills. We will work mostly from life, and look at how master artists utilize these concepts in their work.

Intro to Plein Air Drawing & Painting
May 5 - June 2 (no class May 26), 2018
4 Saturdays 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Students will dive right into plein air by making observational drawings from nature, tonal sketches, and small painted studies that will build up confidence to paint directly from the landscape. This class will meet offsite each session, locations and supply list will be emailed to students prior to first class. Students must be able to transport their own easel and supplies to each class.

Sketching On Site: Cafés and Bars
Coming Fall 2018
Must be 21 or older.
From Toulouse-Lautrec to Urban Sketchers, learn about the fun and accessible way to sketch from life in a few local coffee shops and bars. An emphasis on minimal supplies and quick studies, you will learn how to sketch/watercolor anywhere. Locations and supply list will be emailed prior to first class, and we will meet on location.
