Christina Girardi is an artist who grew up in the Washington, DC area, and continues to draw inspiration from her hometown. With a focus on local landscapes and portraiture, her approach incorporates the freshness of observation from life, with a unique perspective that inspires new ways of looking.

After graduating with degrees in art history and Italian and living abroad in Italy, Christina developed a strong preference for the classical tradition of drawing and painting from life, inspired by a fresh approach that highlights the vitality of the subject. Returning to DC, she studied portraiture and painting the landscape en plein air with various artists in this tradition, notably at the Corcoran College of Art + Design, the Art League of Alexandria, and the Yellow Barn Studio.

Christina exhibits her work and participates in solo and group shows throughout the Washington, DC area, and has been awarded for her en plein air work. Her paintings and illustrations are included in various private collections, and her work is sought after for commissions.

Christina aims to inspire younger generations about the value of observing, drawing, and painting directly from life, and through this mission she has partnered with Fairfax County Public Schools and the Fairfax County Park Authority for various projects and workshops that introduce elementary-age students to drawing and painting en plein air.

Christina teaches drawing and painting at Falls Church Arts in Falls Church, VA.
